Reading is a creation of Satan!

Through the first 25 years of my life I had read one book. Yes, you read that correctly, a grand total of one and that was in 5th grade. I hated reading. It was not that I could not read, it was merely a great disdane toward reading.

The year I turned 26 I made a New Years Resolution to read the Bible, start to finish in one year. I figured, if Satan could create reading, who is to keep God from using it to his benefit, right?  By the end of that year I had officially read my second book.

My opinions on reading did not change, however.  I still hated reading and felt it was an absolute waste of time.  I knew that it could definitely increase vocabulary but so could reading the dictionary and no sane person does that.  So I again decided to stop reading (Does reading one book count as being a “Reader”).

The biggest reason I hate reading is that I have ADHD, who would have thought.  Like Mark Hall from Casting Crowns says, I passed that test with flying colors.

The second reason I hate reading is that reading is anti-social.  People sit in a room with other people and stare at paper with words on it.  Why not talk?  Could talking to other people really be so bad?

With these reasons in my bag, I began to tell people how much I hated reading, and began to convince them of the same.

And then…Steve Collier!
